Bacs payments

You can use ScotPayments to make any outbound Bacs payment. Bacs is an industry standard for making payments. 

ScotPayments adhere to our obligations in the Scottish Public Finance Manual: 

• payments should be made by the most economical and secure method available  
• for most purposes, the preferred payment method should be by Bacs
• other methods of payment such as Clearing House Automated Payments System (CHAPS) and Faster Payments should only be used where time constraints do not permit the use of Bacs

ScotPayments can make large value and volume Bacs payments. This means that we can send payment batches that have a lot of payment instructions and/or contain a large monetary value.  

ScotPayments can currently process hundreds of thousands of payments in a single batch.
