Accountancy and reconciliation

ScotPayments is a payments platform, so we do not not provide any accounting functionality.  

However, you can easily move your payments data from our service into your accounting tools or systems. The team can work with you to make sure you understand how to reconcile your payments data once a payment has been made. 

Easily searchable payment records in user interface (held for 1 year) 

You can search for any payment made through ScotPayments for up to a year. There are different ways to search, including: 

• name 
• payment reference number 

Our search function has a string search, so you do not need to have all the information to find something. For example, if you want to find a payment sent to ‘Scott’, you can search for 'Sco’ or ‘ott’ and get results for ‘Scott’. 

We also have a filter and sort functionality to help you find payments easily. 

Robust archiving with anti-tamper transaction history record (held for 7 years)

We keep your payment records for 7 years from when you created the payment.  

After one year, you cannot access the payments in ScotPayments. We keep the payment records in a secure anti tamper system. 

You can ask us for these payment records. We can give you this information to help you with audits. Nobody else can access your payment archive data. 

We use technology called ‘write once, read many’, which means that nobody can change the payment records. If a payment record is changed, it creates a new record. This means that you can legally prove what happened to those payments.
